Last week I prayed, played and was pampered at the Aria in Las Vegas, NV for the Pamper, Pray and Play Conference for pastors’ wives. First Lady Doris Ratliff of Brentwood Baptist Church and First Lady Sheretta West of The Church Without Walls are the conference hosts. This was their 14th year of coordinating a stellar getaway for pastors’ wives. Their mission for the annual destination retreat is to encourage, engage and renew women in their work of loving the people of God. I missed last year’s conference in Punta Cana, so I was doubly excited to attend this year. The relaxed and intimate atmosphere of PPP does not have many rules and requirements. There is however one, what happens at PPP stays in PPP. Abiding by this rules means I cannot share specifics of presentations, sessions and mealtime fun. I will say that this year’s presenters exceeded, beyond measure, the task they were assigned. Stunning and emotional, that’s all imma say. When asked about PPP, I always say one of my favorites is the way Lady Doris and Lady Sheretta raise the bar in making the attendees feel special and valued. How can one not feel valued when there are lovely gifts beckoning at every seat for every session. Then there is always the precious time spent in the company of my fellow sisters in ministry marriages. There is a shared bond and PPP allows this to flourish in unique ways, that’s all imma say.
Interested? Next year Pamper, Pray and Play turns 15 and Doris Ratliff and Sheretta West are already planning a fabulous retreat. The dates are set, September 25 – 28, at the Atlantis in Nassau, Bahamas, that’s all imma say!
