Lady Patrice Ellis & The Gathering 2016

Last week the Global United Fellowship met in Baltimore, MD for The Gathering 2016. The week was packed with spiritual worship and activities for individuals and families. Lady Patrice Ellis wife of GUF presiding prelate, Bishop Neil Ellis convened a fantastic day for senior pastors’ wives.

To welcome Lady Patrice Ellis and her team to Baltimore, Rev. Monique Carter, first lady at New Shiloh Baptist Church and Lady Danielle Hickman, first lady at Southern Baptist Church, hosted a delightful meal at the Rusty Scupper at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. At the close of the meal, Lady Carter gifted the guests with beautiful pashminas in colorful pouches.

On Thursday, Lady Patrice Ellis planned a fantastic time for senior pastors’ wives. Lord, Is This Really Happening to Me, was the theme of the morning session that commenced at 8:00 a.m. The first to present was Lady Wendy Nelson of Baltimore, MD. Of course, to facilitate intimacy and transparency parts of the session are confidential. I will say this, Lady Nelson unzipped and spoke truth about what it means to love. Lady Nelson is writing a book about her journey when she faced a life threatening illness and God intervened. I would strongly encourage anyone to purchase her book when it becomes available. The second to present was Bishop Designate Helen McPhee, of Nassau Bahamas, who was consecrated on Friday. Pastor McPhee took the morning over the top, ministering to pastors’ wives on power. When she said to the women, “I come of the Holy Ghost, you modern women like to say the Holy Spirit,” it was time to buckle up. She ended the session laying hands on any pastor’s wife who desired her touch. It was a blessing to be in the room and hear these anointed and dynamic women of God.

The transformative day continued with a fabulous luncheon for senior pastors’ wives. Lady Patrice Ellis and her team members, including Lady Joyce McCarter, Lady Kimberly McKissick, Lady Jametta Moore, Lady Ylawnda Peebles, Lady Sandy Thomas, Lady Olivia Wells, Lady Mable Woodson and Lady Nakia Wright, each helmed a table at the luncheon. Every guest at the luncheon received a beautifully wrapped gift from her table host. Though the most wanted items from the luncheon were the designer centerpieces crafted by Lady Mable Woodson. Another plus was that seating was arranged in order to seat sisters not familiar with each other and make new friends at the luncheon. After a thought provoking and heartfelt message from Lady Nakia Wright’s husband, Bishop Donald Wright, all of the attendees left feeling special and ready for the evening worship.
