Last February, the young people of Highland Park were invited to sign the floor with their name and a favorite scripture on the first level of the new church construction. On the last Friday night in August, members and friends of First Baptist Church of Highland Park were grateful and excited to get a long awaited first look inside the new sanctuary at the construction site and sign the floor before the carpet placement.

To welcome Lady Patrice Ellis and her team to Baltimore, Rev. Monique Carter, first lady at New Shiloh Baptist Church and Lady Danielle Hickman, first lady at Southern Baptist Church, hosted a delightful meal at the Rusty Scupper at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. At the close of the meal, Lady Carter gifted the guests with beautiful pashminas in colorful pouches.

Sunday was Baccalaureate Day at Highland Park. This service allows us to salute the academic accomplishments our members. It is always exciting and encouraging to see men and women who have actualized a long held desire and achieved a degree. This year’s Baccalaureate speaker was Melonie Wright, a 2016 graduate of Emory University School of Law.
